Membership in the Caveman Chorus is open to all men who like to sing.  The application process includes voice placement with our director and plenty of additional help in vocal production, music theory, and singing basics.  You are welcome to attend rehearsals as a guest or an applicant until you feel you are ready to sing with the chorus.  For more information on becoming a member, please contact us.

Regular chorus rehearsals and chapter meetings are open to any and all guests who want to rehearse, perform, or just watch.  We rehearse at 7:00 p.m. CST every Thursday night at the Greenwood Park Church of Christ at 1818 Campbell Lane in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  You are welcome anytime during regular rehearsals!

If you are interested in singing with the chorus, we welcome you to join us on the risers.  We will provide a guest music folder and place you next to a strong singer of your same voice part to make you visit more enjoyable.

Frequently Asked Questions

I love to sing, but can't read music - can I still sing barbershop?
Absolutely!  There are several chorus members who don't read music.  For nearly all our music, special learning tracks are made that allow anyone with diligence to learn their part by ear.

I'm not sure I can sing well enough to be in your chorus.
Nearly every new member has felt this way.  You won't find a more supportive group than this one in encouraging you and helping you improve.  We spend at least 1/4 of our rehearsals just working on basic techniques that helps everyone sing better.  There is no better way to improve your singing abilities than to join in with the group and be diligent in practicing.

How is barbershop different than other singing types?
Barbershop is actually a very technical music form devoted to singing exactly in tune in close harmony to produce a ringing sound filled with rich overtones.  We work hard on the exact pitch and the way we pronounce each word so that we all match.  Like other types of singing we work on giving meaning to the music in the way we phrase and breathe and change dynamics
